Steve is a Principal with ROCG which is an international professional service and consulting firm with offices throughout North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.  ROCG is the only international firm specializing in the areas of business transition strategy, finance and operations for privately owned and emerging growth enterprises.

 

He is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is a Certified in Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA).  Additionally, he is founder and President of Wilber & Townshend, PC, a regional full-service CPA Firm based in West Michigan. 

 

Steve specializes in providing consulting services for the SME (Small to Medium-sized Enterprise) with special emphasis in business valuation, transition strategies, and transaction management.  He performs business valuation engagements for litigation matters, estate and gift tax, business planning, business acquisition, and business sales.  He has been engaged in providing consulting services since 1987.

Prior to 1987, he gained extensive experience as a Big 8 Auditor and as Controller and Vice President of Finance for private and public companies of domestic and foreign ownership including seven years with a Fortune World 100 Company.

Steve is a past Chairman of the Consulting Services Task Force of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and is also a member of their Business Valuation and Litigation Support Task Force. Additionally he has taught Continuing Professional Education classes on related topics.  He is also a frequent speaker on Business Transition topics and as a member of the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors has been a panelist numerous times. 

Steve is a graduate of Central Michigan University and is married to Delores.  They have for children and six grandchildren.  He has been active in charitable and community activities and is a co founder of the Grand Rapids Jaycees Foundation.  Steve’s pastimes are golf, tennis and family activities.
