Consulting Experience
Rennie formed his own firm of chartered accountants in 1988 and is the firm’s managing partner with responsibility for managing client engagements in all areas as well as the firm’s IT systems.
He has over ten years consulting experience with a background that includes corporate finance, company acquisitions, raising finance, company sales, company valuations, exit strategy planning and grooming businesses for sale.
Rennie has conducted numerous diagnostic reviews of businesses to assist them in setting a strategic plan.
Representative consulting experience includes:
- Conducted diagnostic business reviews on numerous assignments for Privately Owned Growth Enterprises (POGE’s) across various industry sectors including building & construction, printing, professional services and manufacturing. Subsequently assisted directors with setting and implementing strategic business plans.
- Assisted in the sales of various companies including advising on the corporate finance and taxation issues.
- Provided advice and assistance to POGE’s in the metal fabrication industry on improving and implementing costing, job costing records and other company Management Information systems to improve labor recovery rates and gross margins.

- 13 years experience working with large international accounting practices in Manchester, Kenya and London.
- Worked on a wide range of assignments in both Kenya and Somali for both the private sector and public sector, including World Bank funded projects and The Central Bank of Kenya.
- Specialized in the Small and Medium Enterprise sector providing a wide range of services.
- Director of a business consultancy that specializes in advising POGE’s operating in the UK or continental Europe, who wish to look at inward or outward investment in those regions.
