Consulting Experience

Jimmy has over ten years consulting experience. He has managed and consulted on engagements in multi-national company start-ups in Ireland, organisational design and structuring of private and public sector businesses, and a wide range of privately owned growth enterprises in various sectors throughout Ireland. Representative consulting experience includes:

  • Project management of start up in Ireland of multi-national companies including negotiation with Government agencies, design and construction of facilities, technology transfer, recruitment of key personnel and ongoing management support
  • Strategic and Operational planning and implementation of business performance improvement systems in privately owned growth enterprises
  • Facilitation of strategic review and development of corporate plans, organisational structures, human resource plans for private and public sector businesses and organisations

Additional Experience

Prior to consulting, Jimmy had twenty years of engineering and general management experience in a variety of senior management positions with Digital Equipment Corporation, White Young Petrochemicals and ABB (Ireland) Ltd.

  • His roles/responsibilities at Digital included – Site Operations Manager in Clonmel with 250 employees and Revenue of $300 m in WCM environment; Human Resource Manager for Galway site of 1000 people; and Facilities Engineering Services Manager in Clonmel including design, construction and ongoing management of 15,000 sq m facility.
  • Senior Design/Project Engineer, White Young, responsible for design installation, plant and equipment in dairy, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Responsibilities at ABB (Ireland) include design sale and installation of plant and equipment for Irish and international markets.
